Karachi: The anti-encroachment drive led by the Malir Development Authority (MDA) recently recaptured 16 acres of land in Taiser town, a news source reported. The MDA conducted an operation in the development’s Sector-56 area and demolished a number of structures.

The local land mafia had constructed multiple 300 and 400 square foot solid structures over said land, and were subsequently eliminated by the MDA drive spearheaded by department director; Akhtar Meo.
Anti-Encroachment Department Head Akhtar Meo related that the land mafia had formed an office in the name of Darob Barohi Goath in the Sector-56 and issued fake allotments of plots. He said that his department took action against the people responsible, who took the matter to the court and lost the case.

The MDA team, along with the local police force conducted this operation to remove all illegal structures in the area. Akhtar Meo maintained that the said sector was initially dedicated to the commercialization and was illegally taken over by the land grabbers.
