Multan: The Multan Development Authority (MDA) has prepared the PC-1 for the construction of the inner ring road, a news source reported. As per official, this road network will come off as an amalgamation of the Old Bahawalpur Road, Vehari Road, Khanewal Road, and LMQ Road.
A spate department would be established with an aim to execute the land-acquisition process. Moreover, the MDA has also announced its decision to redesign Bahawalpur Road and Syedan Wala Bypass in a bid to facilitate vehicular movement.

MDA Director General Tanvir Iqbal issued instructions for the Engineering Wing to measure the selected intersections again and expand them by including the state land available in the locality.
He also asked the officials concerned to work on the beautification of the city through installation of greenbelts. He said that in order to develop the road infrastructure, the department needed to retrieve land from the illegal occupation.

In an earlier development, the enforcement team demolished encroachments at Vehari Chowk, vegetable market road and Vehari Road (grid station area) last week. Deputy Director Enforcement MDA Irfan Qureshi spearheaded the said operation.
