Multan: The Multan Development Authority (MDA) is set to form a separate desk for issuing map approvals, completion certificates, and processing land conversion requests under the directions of the Punjab government — with the initiative aimed at fulfilling Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s desire to boost the construction sector and improve ease-of-doing-business in the country, a news source reported.

A one-window cell will be formed for the purpose, and the cell is expected to be overseen by a number of directors of the MDA Directorates.
Through this setup, people will be able obtain completion certificates within 30 days; commercialisation requests will be completed within 45 days; and the layouts of housing schemes will be approved within 60 days.

The desk was inaugurated by MDA Director General Agha Muhammad Ali Abbas last week. On the occasion, he instructed that the timetables should be strictly met, and that everything should be approved within the aforementioned time periods.
