Karachi: The Malir Development Authority (MDA) on Thursday completed the balloting process for plots situated in Taiser Town Scheme 45, a news source reported. The authority, specifically, carried out the balloting process of 20,000 plots located in the scheme.

Previously, the MDA had received 170,000 applications for ballot process; reflective of the citizens’ positive response to the provision of affordable housing projects in the city. Ahead of the ballot, aspirants had gathered in long queues outside the Silk Bank branches designated for the issuance of forms.
Successful applicants will be required to pay development charges previously communicated under the payment schedule. The allotees will have to submit:
- PKR 1,000 per square yard (sq yd) for 80 sq yd plots
- PKR 1,500 per sq yd for 120 sq yd plots
- PKR 1,800 per sq yd for 240 sq yd plots
- PKR 2,000 per sq yd for 400 sq yd plots
