Multan: The governing body of the Multan Development Authority (MDA), during its 79th session, approved the construction of a flyover at the city’s Madni Chowk location, a news source reported. Previously, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar had issued directives for the development of the said crossing.
Construction of the overhead bridge at Madni Chowk was proposed in January this year. Following its development, the proposed facility will address traffic and commute concerns of the area’s residents. Construction of the 800-metre-long and 28ft-wide flyover is expected to cost PKR 600 million.

The MDA DG earlier instructed the concerned officials to ensure that the project design was aesthetically pleasing. Amir Khattak said that funds for MDA’s operational expenses would be sought from the provincial executive. For this purpose, the development authority will approach the parliamentarians concerned.

Moreover, he announced the installation of traffic signals at the Metro Bus route. He instructed his staff to address the commute concerns of both motorists and cyclists in the city.
