Lahore: Metropolitan Corporation Lahore is to start a crackdown against all kinds of encroachment in the city today, according to a publication. In its warning notice issued yesterday, the corporation advised citizens to remove permanent and/or temporary encroachments from their homes, shops, plazas or that set up on government land.
The publication also states that those failing to act upon the warning notice will face repercussions in the form immediate demolishing of these illegally built structures, where the owner/user of the structure will be made to pay demolishing cost. In addition, the corporation will also take legal actions extended to it by the Punjab Local Government Act 2013.
