Lahore: The building plan approvals from the Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) have been divided into three categories: residential, commercial and agriculture/farmhouses – according to a news report published on March 25.

As per the new regulations, the zonal planning officer is empowered to approve the residential building plan spanning over 5 marlas. The completion certificate for 5-marla plots will be issued by the MCL chief metropolitan officer planning.
The residential plan approval for projects spanning over 1-2 kanals will be given by the chief corporation officer and the completion certificate administrator MCL. The approval for the residential apartments spanning over 2 kanals will be given by the administrator.

Similarly, the building plan approval for commercial projects over 10-mala will be given by the MCL chief metropolitan officer planning and the completion certificate will be given by the chief corporation officer (CCO).
The CCO will also approve the 10-marla to 1-kanal commercial building plans, whereas the completion certificate for the same will be issued by the administrator.

Reportedly, the authority has also appointed officials for issuing the approval and completion certificates for agricultural farmhouses and industrial plots.
