Karachi: City Mayor Wasim Akhtar has met the delegation of the World Bank (WB) assuring them of full cooperation of the local government for development of the city, a news source reported.

The WB delegation met the mayor at the head office of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the world banks’ development projects in the city.
KMC Commissioner Dr Syed Saif-ur-Rehman and other senior officials of the city administration also attended the meeting.
The mayor also provided the details of KMC’s anti-encroachment drive around the city. He hoped that the removal of encroachments at such a large scale will bring about a positive change and environmental improvement in the city.

He further added the Supreme Court has declared all allotments of the plots on drains, parks and amenity plots illegal. All allotments made by different departments were cancelled and the state land was repossessed during the anti-encroachment drive.
