Islamabad: The Prime Minister (PM) has asked the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to raise the maximum building height in the federal capital to 500 feet, a news source reported. The current maximum height is fixed at 420 feet. Khan also directed the authorities concerned to encourage vertical development in the city to preserve its greenery.
The premier was attending a meeting on the development work in Islamabad. The session was also attended by Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Ali Nawaz Awan, CDA Chairman Amir Ali Ahmed, and senior Prime Minister’s Office and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials.

PM Khan also directed the authorities to make the site-plans approval procedure for high-rise buildings easier. He directed that the approval should be given in one month.
The PM further remarked that vertical development will provide affordable housing, since apartments are cheaper than horizontal constructions.
