Karachi: Administrator Karachi Laiq Ahmed while chairing a meeting on Monday had said that a master plan has been devised for beautification of the city, according to news sources. Senior Director Coordination Khalid Khan, Director General Parks and Horticulture Taha Saleem, Faiz Qadwai, Sohail Ahmed, Director General Technical Services Shabihul Hasnain Zaidi, and officials of other organizations attended the meeting.

The devised plan includes remodelling of underpasses, pedestrian bridges, and flyovers with the assistance of the private sector. The administrator added that the latest ideas and techniques will be applied to improve the city outlook.
Also, Mr Laiq reiterated that it is crucial to improve the sewage and rainwater drainage system in the underpasses without which the beautification project will be a waste of resources.
Moreover, he also stated that the beautification work on Shahra-e-Faisal will start soon. During the meeting, progress of the restoration of infrastructure in different areas was also reviewed. It was stated that in addition to the beautification projects, infrastructure development is also part of the plan. The roads, bridges, and underpasses must add to the beauty of the city and facilitate the residents.

According to the administrator, the beautification of the city with their immaculate condition and thus can only be achieved when the infrastructure is in working order.
