Lahore: The authorities concerned have notified a draft of the master plan for the Badami Bagh Bus Stand and allocated funds worth PKR 3.64 billion for its development, a news source reported on September 30.

According to the details revealed, the blue print for this parking facility has been prepared in collaboration with the Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab and will cater to future needs of the stand as well.
Among the various development schemes for the project, the more important ones include the restoration of waiting areas and construction of sewerage lines and drains. The master plan also provides recommendation for modernizing the bus stand’s fee collection system.

Other schemes proposed include boundary wall for waiting areas, laying of tough tiles on parking bays, construction of roads at the bus stand and development of commercial complex, bus terminals, service areas, grand jamia mosque, shopping complex, parking plaza, hotel, and non-AC bus bays
The new general bus stand will extend over an area of 1.83 million square foot. More land will also be acquired in addition to the current area of 280 kanals.
