Reportedly, The stadium construction will be accompanied by the construction of a five-star hotel for tourists and foreign players. The decision was made during a news briefing here in Islamabad by the interior minister. The minister stated that the government has given CDA permission to start the project’s tendering process as well as final site selection. The project will be a collaboration between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the CDA, and it will be completed before the Champion Trophy tournament in 2025. It was also stated that the site was chosen due to its picturesque location and proximity to the previously built two small stadiums of Marghzar and Shalimar Grounds. It is worth noting that a plan to build a state-of-the-art cricket stadium in the capital city has been in the works for several years, with a probable location near Shakarparian, but it was subsequently cancelled.
