According to reports, the 31 kilometre-long project, which stretches from the Grand Trunk (GT) road to Bhara Kahu, is part of Islamabad’s master plan. The extension was granted to accommodate the project’s design revisions. The project, which was originally intended to have two lanes of traffic on each side, will now have three lanes due to the addition of a diversion near Sectors D-12 and D13. The diversion was suggested to safeguard the century-old Allah Ditta cemetery.
Furthermore, it was announced that the project will take three months to complete and an additional three months have been given to handle the project’s supplementary work. It should also be noted that the CDA awarded the Margalla Hills Road project to the FWO. The project will be completed in three stages.
