According to sources, 80% of the project’s work has been completed, including repair work on a three-kilometre segment as well as the installation of protective barriers and dividers. Moreover, the construction company has installed sewage system lines along the road. At the same time, the firm is levelling the road and removing boulders from the designated road site.
Furthermore, in the second phase of the project, an 8-kilometre road would be built from Murree Road near Quaid-i-Azam University and will reconnect with Murree Road after bypassing Bhara Kahu. When completed, the project would provide smooth traffic flow in the area connecting the Margalla Hills to the GT Road. CDA has also completed the area’s Environment Assessment Study (EAS) at the direction of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan.

The decision to use EAS was made in response to locals in Sector D-12’s concerns about the harmful effects on society and the devastation of the Margalla Hills National Park. Following the project’s clearance by EAS, CDA has commenced building work on it.
