Karachi: The approvals of maps of 200 high-rise buildings have been delayed, a news source reported. As a result, the builders have decided to contact Advocate General of Sindh on the matter.
The municipal department, on the reservations of Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD), has decided to form a committee with representatives from municipal authorities and ABAD.
The builders have complained that ever since the ground+5 restriction has been placed on high-rise buildings, they have not been able to have their maps approved. The reason is that the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board has been barred from issuing new connections until water issues for old connections are resolved. This has resulted in backlog of map approvals by Sindh Building Control Authority. The builders request is that they be issued conditional NOCs so they could begin construction.
