Islamabad: The Coordination Committee on Heritage Sites plans to map historical and religious sites across the country – a news source reported.
A meeting to this effect took place on Tuesday. Minister for National History and Literary Heritage Shafqat Mehmood presided over the meeting. Culture and archaeology ministers were amongst the participants.

It was decided to map cultural, natural, and religious sites across the country. The participants were asked to prepare a list of heritage sites for UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
Presentations were given on the Orange Line project in Lahore and initiatives of the Pakhtunkhwa government to restore heritage sites. The provinces were asked to submit their suggestions for the project.

The minister said that his division would provide all the support needed to preserve the said historical sites.
