Gujrat: The Punjab Government has discarded the issuance of manually prepared fard and has ordered the departments concerned to issue computerised records of rights, a news source reported.

Under this new policy, patwaris can no longer prepare fards. These documents will only be issued through a computerised system.
In response, real estate agents and patwaris have requested the government to digitise all the records prior to issuing computerised record of rights. Moreover, they have sought extension till June 30.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Supreme Court has barred patwaris from functioning in urban areas. Former chief justice Saqib Nisar had issued the orders to this effect in a suo motu case.
