Karachi: The Cantonment Board Manora has successfully auctioned off Manora Beach Resort to a private company for five years at a bidding price of PKR 11,100,000 for a year’s payment, according to a news source.

The board has advertised the mega auction of its beach resort in August through major leading newspapers. The auction to this effect was held on September 8 and was won by the hospitality company ‘Dreamworld’ on a monthly rental basis. The rent for Manora Beach Resort will be PKR 925,000 per month. The board has even expressed willingness to extend the agreement if it is executed satisfactorily.

An official of the authority has revealed that the formal arrangement between the Cantonment Board Manora and the winning bidder will be formalized in a month. The property comprises a ground plus two-floor building along with four tuck shops near the Varun Dev Mandir. Moreover, there is an open area of 1,562 sq yds at the beach view site. Dreamworld will renovate and decorate the resort and manage it for the next five years.
