Karachi: The Haji Abdullah Haroon Muslim (HAHM) Gymkhana management on Thursday was asked to strictly comply with court orders regarding commercial activities in its building – a news source reported.
Karachi Commissioner Iftikhar Shallwani issued the directives during his visit to the facility. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner District South Salahuddin Ahmed.

Deputy Commissioner Ahmed briefed the commissioner about the measures taken to implement the order. He said that all necessary steps were being taken to preserve the building.
Commissioner Shallwani ordered special measures for uplifting the historic building. He suggested that Gymkhana should be converted into a national heritage site. He also assured all possible support to the management for the project.

The Supreme Court had earlier sought details on Gymkhana’s land allotment from the commissioner. It also orders to demolish walls built around the building.
