Karachi: Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) Director General Naeem Ahmed Mughal informed that the Malir Expressway project is expected to be completed in 30 months, according to a news story published on May 1.

A meeting was held where the director general presented the detailed analysis of the approval process of the 39-kilometre long Malir Expressway to the Sindh Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Coastal Development Muhammad Ismail Rahu. The minister expressed satisfaction over the approval of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the said project. He was notified that all the stakeholders were consulted before the approval of EIA including the Sui Southern Gas Company, Pakistan Air Force, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, departments of irrigation, local government, and revenue.

Moreover, SEPA Director General informed the minister that the water requirement for the project will be met through tanker service. He further added that the expressway will eliminate traffic congestion.
