According to the details, this 9.1-kilometer section, stretching from Korangi Causeway to Shah Faisal, represents a significant milestone in Karachi’s infrastructure development, promising enhanced connectivity and alleviated traffic congestion.
As Sindh’s largest Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project, the Malir Expressway spans approximately 40 kilometres, connecting Korangi Creek Avenue (DHA) to the M-9 Motorway near Kathore. Featuring a three-lane, dual-carriageway design with access-controlled facilities, the expressway aims to streamline connectivity, reduce travel time, and improve access to residential and commercial zones. Dedicated interchanges and ramps will facilitate efficient traffic flow, supplemented by a flyover from Korangi, expected to be completed within two months.
Current construction efforts include the Jam Sadiq Interchange and the rehabilitation of roads at the EBM and Shah Faisal interchanges. Encroachments at Quaidabad Interchange have been cleared to further enhance connectivity. A toll plaza will regulate traffic, with a fee structure of PKR 100 for cars and jeeps and PKR 200 for heavy vehicles. Security measures will include regular patrols by traffic police, fire brigades, and Rescue 1122 ambulances.

To ensure smooth operations, the stretch from the Shah Faisal Interchange to the Shah Faisal Colony Bridge has been declared a no-parking zone. Only commercial vehicles, cars, jeeps, and buses will be permitted, while motorcycles and rickshaws will be restricted. Law enforcement and traffic police will manage entry and exit points, ensuring uninterrupted traffic flow along the expressway.
