Bahria Town Lahore has been dealing with the Lahore Ring Road issue for quite some time now. During all this, I am trying my best to keep you updated about every latest development in this regard.
Today I have something important and refreshing to share with you. In one of my previous posts on the issue, I mentioned that the affectees would meet Malik Riaz. Well, that has happened. Although they could not meet him in person, they had a video conference with him yesterday.
According to sources, the video conference was held in the Bahria Town office with society officials and affectees in attendance.
During the meeting, Malik Riaz assured affectees of his full support and explicitly stated that he is trying his best to get the LRR route changed so that the properties of Bahria Town members remain unaffected. He reiterated that the Bahria Town management will stand by affectees, no matter what.
Yet, Riaz did not give affectees the written confirmation of appropriate compensation that they asked for. He, however, promised that he would meet them during his visit to Bahria Town Lahore.
Demonstrations and demands
A few days ago, affectees protested outside Malik Riaz’s farmhouses in Bahria Town Lahore. They held placards, demanded compensation, and requested Riaz to save their hard-earned money.
Apparently, Riaz was well aware of the demonstration. During the video conference, he said that people should have protested on Raiwind Road or Multan Road to express their grievances to the government.
However, although he has given high hopes to the affectees, they still want written confirmation, which is something he could not provide. They demand a home for a home forfeited and a plot for a plot sacrificed. Nevertheless, it is promising that Riaz has expressed reasonable hope for change in LRR’s route, but the question is: Will the government actually alter its LLR plans? Let’s see what the future has in store for Bahria Town Lahore affectees.
After hearing that Bahria Town has assured affectees of full support, another question has popped up in my mind: Will affectees hold protests against the government now?
That’s all I have to say about the LRR issue for now. I have stated developments and facts in the most neutral way possible. Now, I would leave this discussion open for you to comment on. Needless to say, I wish the affectees the very best of luck. Rest assured, I will keep you all updated about latest developments on this issue in the future as well.

what about those affectes who thrown out by bahria from different sectors and blocks to undeveloped one’s , i once thrown out from jasmin good located to orchard at possession time by making delay submissions of 1installment issue and i sold orchard in loss even less than price invested in 6 years , i wish he wont succeed in changing lrr route , go to hell bahria one man show , malik riaz will burn in hell so deep.
I totally agree with you Asad.. Why Bahria will keep on delaying LRR-South, as there are others hundreds of thousands of public including investors of other sociey who are waiting since long for this project to happen….
Why Bahria sold the property in first place, to which they knew it will be the passage of LRR in future…. While Lake City and Fzaia evolved their plannings as per LRR routes, Bahria just make money in the past. Its now time to payback.

Mark my words – This man will not be seen anywhere and the ring road will go ahead as planned. He is a businessman and does not a run a charity. People may get an alternate plot but the location will not be comparable at all. LRR route was known from day one so if people still chose to trust Bahria and construct or buy property in that area, it is time to pay the price for that risk!

No need to protest against the Govt. This is Fraud done by Bahria and now they are using the people to make some drama as they are with public and Bahria is innocent.

In fact, inciting people against sitting government is an offence and apparently Malik Riaz has already committed it. This exhibits a pure businessman’s thinking who only tries to safeguard his interests. If he is sincere to country and people, he must neither put the state nor the citizens in trouble. It is simple and easy for him to give them plot for plot and house for house. We all know it too.
I have repeatedly been highlighting and would request Mr. Zain to highlight the plight of over three thousand affectees of Phase 9, Bahria Town Rawalpindi also. People have paid full amiunt and been awaiting possessions for the past nine (9) years. Phase 9 does not exist any more. BT management promised to allot a plot for plot in Phase 8 BT Rawalpindi, but according to BT officials, they do not have single plot in Phsae 8 to compensate the affectees of Phase 9. They said that they would, but subject to availability of land. !!!
He made a mess in DHA Valley too, although DHA management is equally responsible. Bahria Enclave 2 Islamabad is another saga. The project has put a lot of people in financial trouble.
I urge those affected because of LRR to keep pressurizing Malik Riaz as he is the one who got money from them. Government cannot stop it’s wheel of progress to pacify a ruthless developer.
In my opinion BT shall neither concentrate on any of their current projects in Punjab nor the prospective ones in KPK or Baluchistan. They, however, find an open field in Sind / Karachi and would continue to announce more and more developments, at least for another two years.

Whats your experience says ? Will BT and MR will succeed in further delaying the LRR by politicizing OR the award of contract and commencement of actual ground work is just going to happen very soon ??? What is your feeling this ?

In reality, BT/MR have no grounds to obstruct. Government on the other hand will go ahead with plan to construct LRR. Even courts are unable to provide relief to BT as the case is not within their jurisdiction.

I will try to get information about Phase 9 affectees.
I dont agree with title that M Riaz extended his support to affectees, he actually tried to cover up his failures and now trying to divert peoples anger towards govt. We will not and should not stop protesting against BTL and Malik Riaz as he is solely responsible for all this mess. He knew LRR is passing through this land and he acquired it and sold it to poor people on high prices so he can make profit. Furthermore some of this land he sold to people on commercial rates. He knew it all along what he was doing and what games he was playing with poor people and and their hard-earned money.
He should compensate poor people judiciously otherwise this scandal will become a thorn in his throat.

Both Bahria Town and Lahore Ring Road deceit people. I visited Lahore Ring Road authority before constructing my house they said nothing has been finalise and we also dont know the location. The same answer came from Bahria. LRR shoud advertised a notice in newspaper but they never did. WHY??? Are all officials in LRR bought by Bahria? I dont understand why LRR didnt give information people where ring will pass. they equally are responsible for keeping people in dark. MR is a looter and he has an expert team including estate agents who guide him how to make fool innocent people. Our own people are not honest with us. property agent will sell plot without thinking the money may have come from someone’s personal belonging (gold, or saving). They are greedy. As of today estate agent selling plots in Tulip Extension plot no 299 for 46 lakh. May Allah guide us all.

In my opinion both Bahria Town and Govt. have bad intentions from very start, as when we have invested in Sector E, there was no such intimation to general public about LRR or the sectors which are not approved. After investment of one year the LDA and other authorities advertised that only A,B and C sectors are approved and no other sectors is approved from LDA or TMA. The same way now common people have invested their saving, now Punjab Govt. wants to give a lesson to Malik Riaz because of Zardari friendship, but in my opinion only common men like us will be in loss, and no effect on Malik Riaz.
