Karachi: Bahria Town CEO Malik Riaz Hussain recently announced the Bahria Town Management’s decision to defer the possession charges levied on Bahria Town Karachi property owners to a later date. He shared this announcement through a Twitter notification on February 23; further stating that the decision had been made under clauses 26 and 27 of the rules and regulations framework specified on the property booking forms.
On December 11 last year, the Bahria Town Management had issued a notice wherein it had asked the property owners to clear their dues by December 31; further announcing to penalise them in case of non-compliance.

On December 19, several online platforms started sharing images of a notice issued by the society management detailing the dues that the property owners were required to pay – based on their respectively owed utility, maintenance and possession charges. The overall payments amounted to 35% of the total property value in some instances.
