Islamabad: A Malaysian company has agreed to invest USD 250 million in Pakistan’s telecommunication sector during the next five years – a news source reported.
Datuk Azzat Kamaluddin, chairman of Edotco Group’s Board of Directors, expressed his views on the matter. He, along with a delegation of company officials, called on Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan.

The officials included Nik Ramlah Nik Mehmood, the board member, Suresh Narain Singh Sidhu, CEO, and Arif Hussain, country MD. High Commissioner of Malaysia Ikram Mohammad Ibrahim was also present at the occasion.
The PM was informed that the Malaysian group was already funding projects worth USD 100 million in Pakistan. Now, Edotco wants to expand its investment through the inclusion of the telecommunication sector.

The group’s chief lauded the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said that Edotco Group wanted to facilitate the government with regard to the Digital Pakistan Programme initiative.
In response, the PM said that his government would provide all possible assistance to the group. He also highlighted various measures being taken to facilitate foreign investors.
