Karachi: The Finance Ministry has started to take measures to make the process of availing the tax amnesty scheme easier by increasing the deadline to submit payment slip IDs (PSIDs) from 24 hours to 72 hours, reported a news source. The government is also looking to let people declare their benami properties under this scheme.
After the Supreme Court’s go-ahead for the tax amnesty scheme, the number of people looking to avail it has increased to a huge extent, where the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has run out of its email server’s capacity to issue more PSIDs. This called for the SBP to increase its server’s capacity.
The representatives of the Federal Board of Revenue were informed that the server capacity has been increased and the backlog of email request for issuance of PSIDs has been cleared off.
