Faisalabad: Dignitaries in the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) have said that there were two major issues surrounding the tax amnesty scheme which have been resolved, according to a news report. The Inland Revenue Faisalabad Regional Commissioner Chaudhry Muhammad Tariq has said that the Supreme Court has also cleared it.
Adding to this, Tariq has said that a comprehensive and vigorous awareness campaign has also been enabled to maximise the number of investors and derive benefit from the facility. He also said that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Tariq Mehmood Pasha has been visiting various major business centres to interact with business professionals and make them understand the scheme.
Pakistan, according to Tariq, is facing a number of tax-related problems which are decreasing foreign exchange reserves and declining exports. He also added that in order to overcome the extensive devaluation, Pakistan requires an additional PKR 4 trillion to PKR 6 trillion which can be brought under this scheme. He also pointed out the measures taken by the government to broaden the tax net.
