Lahore: Punjab Law and Social Welfare Minister Raja Basharat has said that the provincial cabinet meeting has taken important decisions regarding South Punjab, according to news sources. As per the publication, he said that the offices of additional inspector general (IG), Additional chief secretary and special secretaries will be moved to Multan and Bahawalpur and become operational on April 01.

The minister revealed that the meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, who announced that the process has been initiated for the establishment of the new province.

Minister Basharat revealed that the officials will draft an effective policy to get the opposition’s support to approve the bill for creation of South Punjab in the parliament. He further revealed that unfair resource allocation in Southern Punjab and matters of development projects were also discussed in the meeting.
Additionally, Basharat said that the contract has been awarded to resolve the issues associated with the issuance of vehicle number plates. The minister also said that the meeting has approved restructuring of Sports and Tourism department.
