Gujranwala: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar has approved a project to conduct maintenance and patchwork on the city’s Hafizabad Road, between Alam Chowk and Ladhe Wala Waraich — with the authorities concerned having already initiated development work on the venture, a news source reported on August 6. The project is expected to cost PKR 191 million.

According to the details available, initially, only funds worth PKR 50 million of the total cost of the project had been issued for the construction of the central road, which runs through Ladhe Wala Waraich. The funds had been specifically issued for the initiation of work at Qila Deedar Singh and Hafizabad Road. The issuance of tenders for all of these projects is also expected to be completed within the next few days.

Hafizabad Road has been in increasing need of repairs for several years. The local municipal and notables had submitted a request, as well as a feasibility report on the project to the Chief Minister, who has now issued his approved for the venture.
