As per details, the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) announced this new regulation to streamline toll collection and enhance traffic flow efficiency on this major route. The M-Tag system, a form of electronic toll collection, offers a seamless experience for commuters by automatically deducting toll fees from a prepaid account linked to the vehicle’s registration. This eliminates the need for cash transactions at toll plazas, significantly reducing congestion and wait times for travelers.
How to Get an M-Tag?
Vehicle owners can obtain an M-Tag from designated service centers or toll plazas. The process involves linking the tag to the vehicle’s registration and setting up a prepaid account, which can be topped up as needed. For assistance and further information, the NHMP has provided a helpline at 1313 for those unfamiliar with the process.
