Islamabad: The Gojra-Shorkot section of Faisalabad-Multan (M-4) Motorway will be made operational next week – a news source reported.

Communications Minister Murad Saeed will inaugurate the section on Saturday. An inauguration ceremony will be held at Shorkot interchange. Officials of the National Highway Authority (NHA) and the Ministry of Communications will all be present at the occasion.
M-4 comprises of a 58km-long Faisalabad-Gojra section; 61km-long Gojra-Shorkot section; 64km-long Shorkot-Khanewal section, and 45km-long Khanewal-Multan section.

The Faisalabad-Gojra and Khanewal-Multan sections were previously made operational. However, labour work is underway on Gojra-Shorkot and Shorkot-Khanewal sections.
These sections were supposed to be completed in January. The 61km-long Gojra-Shorkot section comprises 31km-long Gojra-Jumani and 30km-long Jumani-Shorkot sub-sections.

Moreover, it includes three interchanges passing through Toba Tek Singh, Warriyamwala and Shorkot as well as 21 underpasses and 39 subways.
