Lahore: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) is all set to launch a cleanliness drive in the provincial capital – a news source quoted LWMC Managing Director Khalid Nazir as saying.

This zero-waste cleanliness initiative will be held every Friday till March 29. Under this drive, LWMC officials will clean streets, open plots, markets, and other spots across the city. Moreover, mechanical sweeping and washing arrangements are included in this programme.
MD Khalid Nazir also directed Turkish waste management companies to assist LWMC. He warned the officials concerned against negligence, and announced certificates of appreciation as a reward.
He said that the drive will be carried out throughout the city. Furthermore, he directed LWMC’s enforcement department to chalk-out a plan for dealing with violators.

He also requested the general public for their support to fulfil the task. He stressed on the need to properly dispose solid waste materials and ensure cleanliness.
