Lahore: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) held a meeting to address the debris accumulation’s concerns and announce holidays and bonuses for Christian workers, according to a news article on December 20.

As per the details, Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Randhawa, stressing the need for proactive measures, directed the Town Planning Wing (TPW) to focus on clearing larger debris points. A unanimous decision was reached to form joint teams comprising representatives from the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Metropolitan Corporation Limited MCL, and LWMC to combat the illegal dumping of construction material.
The source also revealed that the LWMC has announced an advance salary and a bonus to over 16 thousand employees. Additionally, a holiday on December 25th and 26th has been declared for Christian workers, underscoring LWMC’s commitment to their well-being.

Acting on Commissioner Lahore’s directives, the trio committed to collaborative efforts to address over 350 identified debris points citywide, with LWMC successfully clearing more than 330 of them within the past seven days.
