Lahore: The Punjab government has announced a bonus equalling 17-day salary for all Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) employees, according to a news report. This has been done in recognition of LWMC’s work for collection and disposal of sacrificial animals’ offal and keeping the city clean during the eid.
The city administration also detained 88 people for burning sacrificial animals’ heads and torts in the city. The burning of heads and torts, except at designated points, was banned under section 144 of the criminal procedure code during Eid days.
