Lahore: Development work on the Lahore Ring Road (LRR)’s Southern Loop (SL) that connects Kamahan with Adda Plot on Raiwind Road has been completed, and it will be inaugurated on December 22, according to a news source. The project was completed under a private-public partnership in 13 months.
The loop comprises seven interchanges to connect the city’s northern and southern areas – Kamahan Interchange, Ashiana Interchange, Gaju Matah Interchange, Kahna Interchange, LDA City Interchange, Haloki Interchange and Adda Plot Interchange. The SL also has three pedestrian bridges, 25 overhead bridges and 14 underpasses.
It is the first road network in Lahore to have an automated toll collection system. The security arrangements along the LRR’s SL have been connected to the Lahore Safe City project.
