After the amendments have been made in the relevant law, the LRRA will be renamed as the Punjab Ring Road Authority. This new authority will be made responsible for the repair and development of ring roads across Punjab — including Lahore.
As per the information available, the draft law has been dispatched to the Communication & Works department, after which it will be sent to the law department and then finally on to the Punjab Assembly.
After the law has been approved, the Rawalpindi Ring Road project will also fall within the jurisdiction of the newly formed authority.
