Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar on Tuesday approved the commencement of construction work on the Lahore Ring Road Southern Loop-III (LRR SL-III) to ease the traffic pressure inside the city, and at its entry and exits points, according to news sources. An agreement in this regard is scheduled to be signed in the second week of this month (June).

Buzdar made the decision while chairing a Lahore Ring Road Authority (LRRA) meeting to review the said project. The meeting was informed that the 8-kilometre-long and six-lane-wide LRR SL-III between Raiwind Road and Multan Road will be complete through public-private partnership (PPP) model in one year. The National Logistics Cell (NLC) will be in charge of constructing and operating the Lahore Ring Road Southern Loop-III.

Furthermore, the chief minister also directed the members to complete the preparations of the Lahore Southern Loop-IV Project at the earliest – as this section of the road will connect the Multan Road with M-III.
