Lahore: Senior Provincial Minister Abdul Aleem Khan has given one-week deadline to Lahore Parking Company to collect PKR 10 million, reported a news source. Khan issued these directives while presiding a meeting and finding out the company’s poor performance.
The minister received briefing on the operations and performance of Lahore Parking Company by its Managing Director Syed Qalb Abbas and other important officials. Khan expressed reservations on the performance of the company and said that complaints of being involved in corruption have been filed against its employees. He also mentioned that Lahore has no free car parking space and yet Lahore Parking Company is facing financial issues. The company was formed to earn revenue and not to be run as charity service, he added.
To help sort the revenue issues faced by the company, Khan advised charging for parking space according to the respective area. He also instructed the officials concerned to make a strategy for charging according to the area category. In order to ensure that the performance of the company is up to the mark, the minister mentioned that the outcomes of the efforts taken by the company will be monitored every quarter.
The Lahore Parking Company official assured Khan of making a new plan as per the given instructions. The new plan will be shared with the minister in the next week.
