Faisalabad: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA)’s Governing Body has provided its approval to the proposal shared for the construction of low-cost housing units under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) in the FDA City, a news source reported on Friday (October 2).
The project is estimated to cost PKR 5 billion and it will be developed in collaboration with the private sector. The civic body has yet to gain the final approval from the authorities concerned.

According to the details shared, the FDA City recently notified the availability of ‘ample’ land for commencing with the project development. To this effect, it stated that it had identified 523 kanals of land where it would construct 1,488 low-cost, 5-marla and 3-marla houses.
Moreover, the authority said that it had completed the planning process pertaining to the development of the project’s infrastructure.

The estimated price of a single-storey 5-marla unit, according to the details shared by the sources within the FDA, is notified to be PKR 3.95 million, whereas a single story 3-marla would cost PKR 2.6 million.
