Sargodha: While addressing the foundation-laying ceremony for an affordable housing project being developed as part of the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) in Sargodha district, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the low-cost housing scheme would be expanded to all tehsils of the country by the end of 2021, according to news sources.

On the occasion, PM Khan further highlighted the integral role played by banks in providing loans to people, and applauded Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar for successfully overseeing this massive affordable housing project. Moreover, he assured that the promotion of the housing sector would generate economic activity and help people build a home for themselves.

Chief Minister Buzdar also took the opportunity to address attendees at the event, and revealed that the project would be expanded to 146 tehsils and that monthly instalments would be kept at the PKR 10,000 mark to make the project more affordable. Additionally, a PKR 0.3 million subsidy by the Punjab government has also been devised for the province’s citizens, as the Punjab Cabinet had approved PKR 3 billion for the purpose.
