Karak: The Banda Daud Shah tehsil council has imposed a water tax on oil and gas exploration companies, a news source reported. This decision is geared towards widening the council’s tax net; thereby improving its financial position.

The water tax will be imposed on companies that take water from local sources. The decision was taken in a meeting of the council, chaired by convener Malik Speena Jan. The local executive body also agreed to ponder over other measures for raising its revenue.
During the session, approval was also given for carpeting one-kilometre long road stretch from Teri Bazaar to the government girls higher secondary school. This renovation work will help to mitigate the difficulties faced by commuters.
