Mingora: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Swat Junaid Khan has stated that the local administration will work to restore Swat Valley to its former glory and a comprehensive beautification plan has been prepared for the purpose, a news source reported on February 17. He added that efforts will be made to enhance the beauty of the valley.

The DC also stated that Swat will again be turned into a place where tourists will be able to enjoy the sightseeing around the year. He also added that no delay will be tolerated in the completion of the development work in the area.

Khan added that the federal government is taking steps to restore tourism around the country. As a part of its plans, the government is working on finishing and restoring all roads leading to the major tourist attractions of the country including Swat. He revealed tourism saw an upsurge in Swat during winter and nearly 2 million tourists visited the region during the past 6 months.
