Islamabad: Margalla Avenue, which runs through Sectors B-17 and D-12, has been facing delays from the last five years due to litigation issues, reports a news source. The PKR 588 million contract was awarded in 2012, but only 50% development on the 9-kilometre road has been completed so far.
According to details, the work on a 6-kilometre long patch of road has been completed, which will serve as a by-pass for traffic coming from Peshawar. The remaining 3-kilometre patch faces delay because the CDA hasn’t been able to acquire land for this part. Reportedly, CDA’s Land Department has also been delaying fixing the issue.
