Senior VP Sheikh, while speaking at a meeting, mentioned that the city has access to only one railway track to link it with Khanewal and Shahdara. He went on to say that the chamber will talk about including Faisalabad in the proposed mega project of ML-1 with the government and China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority.
Standing Committee Chairman Mirza Hadyatullah disclosed that ML-1, ML-2, and ML-3 railway lines have been proposed under CPEC to connect Peshawar to Karachi through Multan. He further added that since Faisalabad is a major commercial, export, business, and industrial hub, a direct link to ML-1 is required for the movement of export and import consignments.
