Gwadar: Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) Chairman Mohsin Sheikhani on Wednesday lauded the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA)’s decision to remove the four-year ban on the issuance of no-objection certificates (NOCs) to real estate projects in the port city; further stating that this facility would transform Gwadar into a hub of trade and construction activities, according to news sources.
Sheikhani said that the removal of the ban would lead to the creation of millions of jobs in Gwadar, in addition to providing other benefits to both the provincial and national economies.

Moreover, the removal of ban on NOCs for commercial, industrial, housing, warehouses and all types of construction and industrial enterprises would turn Gwadar into a focal point of construction, trade and other kinds of businesses, he added.
The ABAD chairman also praised Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal Khan and GDA Director General (DG) Shahzeb Khan Kakar for effectively completing the Gwadar master plan.

Previously, the GDA had implemented the ban in 2016 in a bid to revise the ‘Smart Port City Master Plan’ – under which the Balochistan government aims to transform Gwadar into a modern port city.
Why are these local, illiterate politicians putting bans on everything ? Instead they should invite and give incentives to foreign companies to establish giant de-salination plants, nuclear or conventional. When you establish a city and a giant sea port, the first thing you need is clean water, specially when there is no river flow and you have a large ocean in the backyard. You have potable water you have ocean and you have a vast area. The whole world will come to you. You have live examples of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar. Learn from them instead of making villas in their country.
