Lahore: The Punjab Government and the Central Business District (CBD) have embarked on an ambitious water drainage project valued at PKR 8 billion to combat the persistent issue of flooding along Walton Road, claimed a news source on September 28.

According to the shared details, Punjab CM Mohsin Naqvi announced this billion-rupee project during his recent visit to the construction sites of two other significant infrastructure projects, the Khalid Butt Chowk Underpass and the Ghora Chowk Defence Mor Flyover. The project is expected to be completed within a span of 120 days.
Addressing the media, CM Naqvi emphasized the critical nature of addressing the longstanding problem of rainwater drainage in the Walton Road area. He revealed that the authorities have already reached out to the Cantonment Board to collaborate on resolving the issue. Besides this development, he announced that the Khalid Butt Chowk Underpass was nearing completion, with plans to open it to the public next month.

Furthermore, he assured that the Ghora Chowk Flyover project would be finished ahead of schedule. He emphasized that the government’s priority was to complete both projects swiftly while upholding high-quality standards.
