The LHC has ordered the city administration to modify their previous time restrictions order and allow restaurants, eateries, coffee shops and cafes to provide their services till 11 PM while the restaurants will be allowed to provide home delivery services till 12:30 AM. The city administration has also issued the official notification to implement the new timings with immediate effect. The orders are a modification of the LHC’s previous orders that barred restaurants from operating beyond 10 PM to curb smog in the city.

It is important to note that Lahore has been in the grip of a thick smog blanket that has engulfed the city. The city ranked number one among the most polluted cities with the Air Quality Index (AQI) plummeting to hazardous levels. The LHC took notice of the situation and barred the restaurants and markets from operating beyond 10 PM as a counteractive measure.
