Lahore: To completely eradicate encroachments from Data Darbar and its adjoining areas, Mall Road, Shah Alam Market and Hall Road, the Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued order for operation clean-up, reported a news source. The directives to free the mentioned areas from encroachments in 24 hours were given by Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi.
The court further instructed Lahore Deputy Commissioner Saleh Saeed to ensure that the court’s order is thoroughly implemented, where operations are carried out indiscriminately to free the roads for vehicles and pedestrians. The case was adjourned till November 27, 2018.
Saeed also presented a report before the court on operations carried out against the encroachers. He also affirmed to follow the orders and ensure that the operation is carried out effectively to remove encroachments from the city. Earlier, during his visit to Data Darbar area, Saleh was displeased to see encroachments being set up after the operation that was carried out just recently and ordered the sealing of three shops.
To ensure that the encroachments don’t resurface, he instructed officers of Metropolitan Corporation to set up camps in the area in coordination with the police.
