Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) maintained the status quo of an empty piece of land next to Janki Devi Jamiat Singh Maternity Hospital, run by the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), on November 25.
The ETPB had filed a petition stating the land was illegally occupied by the police. The board’s counsel said the vacant plot was evacuee property but camps had been set up on the land by the police, resulting in consequences for the hospital staff, especially female employees.
On the counsel’s behest, the court ordered status quo and sought answers from capital city police officer (CCPO) Lahore within a week.
