Lahore: The Lahore High Court has invalidated the luxury tax notices sent to owners of 2-kanal and bigger houses, states a news report.
A two-bench court comprising Justice Shahid Jamil and Justice Sajid Mehmood Sethi announced the verdict on a case filed by 60 applicants challenging the Finance Bill 2004’s Section 8 in the court.
The news source reported further that applicants were of the view that implementation of luxury tax on houses built after January 2001 is discriminatory and should accordingly be reversed.
