Lahore: For the first time in its history, Lahore High Court is to see the launch of an expansion project in the form of a 10-storey high complex, reported a news source. The project details on initiating development work at the site have been completed, and the project will be inaugurated in the coming week by LHC Chief Justice Muhammad Anwar-ul-Haq.
Reportedly, Directorate General of Archaeology, Government of Punjab has also approved the project, while approvals from all other departments for the construction of the building have also been granted. The new building will be designed and built according to the existing architecture and colour scheme of the LHC building. It will span a total of 5 kanals of land.
Once completed, all LHC offices will be shifted there. The top floor of the building will be used as a library, which is planned to be the biggest Judges’ Library in Asia.
